FAQs
Am I too old/too young for posture therapy?
Absolutely not! We start to create misalignments in the body when we start to walk. Everyone has a unique posture and it may cause some difficulties at any point in your life! There is no shame in getting help. My oldest client was 92 and my youngest was 13.
Do I need to stop [activity] while doing posture therapy?
Posture therapy is great foundational work for any type of activity or other type of therapy. Whether it’s lifting, yoga, cycling, physical therapy, massages, running, chiropractic, you name it! Posture therapy will help keep muscles working correctly to help you achieve better results in whatever you do.
What can I expect from posture therapy?
I like to tell my clients that the only way this will work is if we work as a team! I know what the body should do, but you know your body best. I rely on you for open communication, thoughts, and opinions. With this, you can expect diminished pain, increased mobility, deeper body awareness, a more inquisitive mind, better breathing, increased mood, confidence, support & more!
When will I be out of pain?
This one is tricky. I will be honest and I cannot give you a definitive answer. Every single body is different in how it functions, holds itself, unlocks & unwinds. Think about peeling layers of an onion - depending on how many layers there are will determine that timeline. This is a process, not a race. Unwinding does take time, but all things worth having do!
Do I have to be in pain to benefit from posture therapy?
Nope! Everyone can benefit from postural therapy. Just because we don’t feel pain (yet) doesn’t mean the body isn’t misaligned. If you fell off your bike or twisted your ankle when you were little, I guarantee you are misaligned! Compensations build on top of one another like layers. Be proactive with your health & body and avoid the pain all together! Not sure? Schedule a phone call or consultation to see how it can help YOU!
Do you accept insurance?
I like to say that insurance doesn’t accept what I do because I am going to the root of your issue to heal it. I am not focused on the symptom (where it hurts). This means I need to take a holistic approach to the body to understand what’s really going on. Going through this process will keep you out of the viscous cycles of doctors, physical therapy, pain management, etc.
You helped my friend with X, would you be able to help me with Y?
1000%! Postural therapy focuses on the entire body as a whole. The body should move as a unit, all the muscles are intertwined with one another. So even if you knew someone that had back pain, and you have shoulder pain.. believe it or not they are connected and I can absolutely help you with this! Still not sure? Send in a consultation form!
